So…you’re interested in taking a pole class but not sure where to start? Look no further!

Firstly, we are so happy that you’re here! All of us have been where you are now and understand how signing up for your first class can be a bit intimidating. Worry not, my friend. Here is everything you need to know!

What to expect:

Our Intro to Pole class is totally accessible to those who have never touched a pole in their life. As it says in the name, you are strong enough! You do not need upper body strength or flexibility to start—you will notice improvements with consistent training and you will be amazed with yourself after a couple of classes! So come as you are…you’ll do great!

What to wear:

Skin is king! To ensure you have the best possible grip on the pole, wear shorts or leggings that can be rolled up to your knees and a t-shirt, tank top, or sports bra. During the colder months, you may want to wear sweats over top so you can get nice and toasty during the warmup! No worries about wearing heels just yet—it is best to start barefoot.

*pro-tip: it is recommended that you do not apply body lotion or hand cream the day of your pole class. Lotions will make the pole slick and much more difficult to dance on.

What to bring:

This one is easy because you don’t need much besides yourself! However, please bring your own water bottle. We have a water station in the studio if you need to top it off throughout class!

Road map:

Your pole journey is only getting started. After you’ve taken a few Strong Enough - Intro to Pole classes, you will be ready to move on to the next level, Space Kittens - Beginner Pole. Here is where you will build and refine your technique—you will learn new pole tricks and longer sequences. Once you’re able to climb up the pole, you can attend Spin Kittens - Beginner Spin Pole to test out what you’ve already learned in beginner on a spinning pole. After a couple of these classes, you will feel prepared to move on to our open level classes: Ground Control - Low Flow, Celestial Body - Sensual Pole, Heels classes and others! Open level classes will round out your pole dance experience. You will level up the skills that you already know and become a more unique and fluid dancer. You will be introduced to the various styles of pole dance and totally nerd out on body mechanics. It’s really fun!

We are so excited for you to embark on this new adventure. You will notice right away the lovely community that pole dance inspires. Your confidence will grow, you will become stronger, and learn a super fun new skill. Pole dance can be completely life changing and we are here to support you all along the way!
